Our Mission Philosophy
The most wonderful thing in the entire world is to personally know the God who created you and the reason for which He created you! No amount of education, success, material wealth, or public adulation can begin to compare with being deeply and unconditionally loved by God and experiencing His purpose for your life.
The Lord Jesus Christ said in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” It is only by putting our faith in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord that we can receive spiritual life and become a Child of God. John 1:12-13 says that, “to all who receive Him (Jesus) to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God – children not born of natural descent, nor of human decision . . . but born of God.”
Once you receive “spiritual life” by being “born again” into God’s family, through faith in Jesus Christ, you’re ready to experience God’s loving fellowship and purpose, and experience life to the full! It is a journey of faith and growth. It is a journey to share with friends.
Colonial Heights’ ministry of Missions and Evangelism provides opportunities for every person to know and experience God, and become personally equipped and involved in purpose fulfilling experiences. In 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, the Apostle Paul says that as believers we have received, 1) a new life in Christ, verse 17, 2) a new life purpose - a ministry of helping people come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, verses 18-19, and 3) a new life message - the responsibility and privilege of sharing the gospel message with those we meet everyday, verses 19-20.
There are opportunities for you to be involved in Great Commission ministry in the Jackson metro area and all around the world. In Acts 1:8 Jesus said that we would be His witnesses in our cown ommunity, in our own country, and around the world. That's what we're doing at Colonial Heights.
