A Message From Bob Haller
Posted:07-08-2008We are excited to have Pastor Mark back with us today following his trip to the Holy Land. He will be preaching in all the services today and next Sunday. You will not want to miss a single opportunity to hear him preach as he concludes his ministry here at Colonial Heights on Sunday, July 13.
In this evening’s service, the Personnel Committee and the deacon body will present their unanimous recommendation for the Pastor Search Committee to the church for our vote of approval. The committee names were initially presented to the church family on Sunday night, June 22 and
published in The Invitation on Sunday, June 29. I hope that you’ve been praying for God’s leading so that when we come together tonight, we might affirm with one voice His will in this important
matter. Our desire is that His will might be done in our church as it is in heaven.
Also tonight, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper together during worship. I cannot think
of a more appropriate way to prepare our hearts and minds to obediently follow His will than to remember His life, sacrificial death, and resurrection for us. He gave and continues to give His best for us. Surely, we must do the same for Him.
Lastly, I want to remind you that we will have a farewell reception for Pastor Mark and his family
following the evening worship service, next Sunday, July 13. I hope that you will plan to be present and express your love and appreciation for our Pastor and his family. If you would like to write a note of appreciation to Mark, you can drop it in a basket in the main lobby that evening.
In Christ,
Bob Haller
