Freedom Celebration - Sunday, June 29

Our annual Freedom Celebration will be next Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00.  Andy and the P/33 choir are prepared for a great time of worship.  Not only will we celebrate the great freedom we have as Americans, but also the far superior, spiritual freedom we have as believers because of Jesus Christ.

I have been blessed to be part of many mission trips all over the world.  One of the many benefits of those experiences is a greater love for my country.  I have a much greater understanding and appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy.  Our early fathers wanted to build a nation upon Judeo-Christian values and allow all its citizens to worship freely.  They declared that “all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”  Next Sunday, we will honor those who have given their lives to make these rights affordable to us.

Dr. H.D. McCarty will be speaking next Sunday morning while I am traveling with a group of you in Israel.  He is a retired Air Force General and formerly pastored the University Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas for 39 years.  That evening from 6:00 to 7:30, Dr. McCarty will lead a seminar entitled The Overcoming Journey:  Graphic Theology and the Christ Life Compass.  You will not want to miss this dynamic and inspirational day.
