The Faithfulness of God
Posted:06-16-2008We talk about the faithfulness of God, but do we really grasp what that means? Webster’s Dictionary defines faithful as “steadfast in affection and firm in adherence to promises”. Apply that definition to the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Holy God and you have the real promise of absolute faithfulness in every situation for every believer.
If you are a one of His children, you will recall times when God has been faithful to you. We who are on the receiving end of the abundant life God provides are called to be a witness to those who do not know Him. Psalm 89:1 says, “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” This verse tells us that God wants us to declare His faithfulness, with our mouths! We don’t have any problem proclaiming allegiance to a sports team or to our alma mater, but what do we say about the One who has never let us down? This week, take time to be still and reflect on God’s faithfulness to you and your family and then tell someone!
We had a great week in Vacation Bible School this past week! Hundreds of children were here and heard, maybe for the first time, that Jesus loves them and has a special plan for their lives. Join me tonight as we celebrate VBS Family Night at 6:00 p.m.
