NANo Vision: Sold Out Living 7 - Romans 12:6
02/27/2008Everyone is given some spiritual gift to use to serve our Lord and His church; grace accompanies your spiritual gift. (Romans 12:6)
- Prophecy is proclaiming the Word of God and making it relevant to a person’s life.
- Service is any sort of practical help that Christians can give one another in Jesus’ name. (Acts 20:35)
- Teaching is given to the person who can present God’s Word so that others can understand it.
- Exhortation calls believers to obey and follow the truth; these folks teach for life change.
- Giving—the one who has this gift gives sacrificially of himself, not for himself. (Proverbs 19:17) (2 Corinthians 9:7)
- Leadership—every leader must do his assignment with diligence and haste with no second guessing.
- Mercy—the person with this gift can comfort and strengthen someone else. The Christian with this gift shows mercy by what he says to and what he does for the one in need, and he does it cheerfully. (Proverbs 25:11, 15:23) Verses 9-21 deal with Christians in relationship to other people, both in the church and in the world.
- God’s love to us is “Agape,” and we should display the same kind of love. (Romans 5:8). *It is unconditional, without reservation. Love always shows itself in conduct and in action. (1 John 2:4-5).
