Child Evangelism Fellowship is an international mission organization that reaches out to children and adults in over 157 countries. One important part of their ministry is their Bible Study Correspondance ministry, which reaches hundreds of thousands of children as well as many prisoners around the country and world.

Our mission teams travel to St. Louis, Missouri several times a year to work at their international headquarters to work with the Bible Study Correspondance ministry. They process thousands of Bible study lessons each day. This is a wonderful way to reach out to children and prisoners all over the world. Pray about joining one of our CEF mission teams this year.

LaGRANGEVILLE, NEW YORK - T.B.A., Summer 2012
Door-to-door community surveys, evangelism, discipleship studies, community ministry, random acts of kindness activities, etc.

Colonial Heights is involved in a four year partnership to plant a new church in LaGrangeville, New York.  Pastor Derek and Dana Duncan, and their children, Jonathan and Elizabeth, moved to LaGrangeville, New York in August 2009.  Sensing God’s Call to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations,” and following Jesus’ command to be “witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost part of the earth,” they see the great need to plant churches in the Hudson Valley area of New York State.  This spiritually dark and unreached area is only 90 minutes from a city that literally touches the entire world.

CHBC is providing spiritual, financial, administrative, ministry, and mentoring support to the Duncans and their lay leadership team.  We will also be sending a mission team to LaGrangeville, New York each year to help them in their church plant through 2013.

Why Arlington, New York?

LaGrangeville is strategically located in an area with 24,302 households within a three-mile radius.  Our target group is people like us: families with high school and college age students.  32.2% of the family households have children.  Another 41.3% are non-family households, which primarily indicate young college students, not including dormitories.  In an area where 50% of the people are unchurched and another 48% belong to non-evangelical churches, LaGrangeville is ripe for the gospel.  Note the following information:

-  Total Population within Three-Mile Radius of Center of LaGrangeville: 62,082
-  Total Enrollment of Arlington High School: 3,400
-  Total Enrollment of Poughkeepsie High School: 1,278
-  Total Enrollment of Area Colleges: 19,038
-  Total Population of Dutchess County: 298,267   2000-2008 Growth: 6.5%

Where is LaGrangeville?
Located midway between Albany and NYC, and centrally located in the middle of Dutchess County, LaGrangeville is the fastest growing area of Poughkeepsie, making it a prime location for planting an evangelical church.
